The fabric for the vest and the tablet bands were woven simultaneously on the loom. The pattern for the fabric is an eight-shaft twill and the pattern for the bands is a threading defined pattern (detail below right). Around the front edge of the vest is a tabletwoven tubular band (detail above) which was woven separately and hand stitched to the edge after the vest was assembled. As I was weaving the tubular band I stuffed it lightly with fleece to make it more round. Beads (below left) were added to the armhole edge after the vest was sewn together.
