This marudai is made by Thom Chadwick for his wife Louisa. The mirror and base are made of Oregon myrtle, the legs from mahogany donated by Louisa's uncle. The base decorations are made from various hardwood dowels, (holly, paduak, purpleheart, etc.). The padauk tama are made by Peter Berlin and the yarn is cotton, naturally dyed with logwood, cochineal, and osage orange. The braid is Kaku Yatsu Gumi. |
