I'm Maggie Machado, a student of Linda Hendrickson's. 
My ply-split work is made of cotton 3-ply twine and terminated with multiple toggle knots. I am especially interested in the design potential with combinations of ply-splitting and various knotting techniques. I have been a member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers for many years and first heard mention of Peter Collingwood in one of the newsletters from the guild.
