Gallery 10a - Maggie Machado, USA

The October 2004 workshop in Portland, Oregon, USA with Erroll Pires from India was such an inspiration.
When I learned POT, I started thinking of possibilities. Here are some examples of my efforts in rug making. I had some 30 year old macrame cord (about 6mm) which I 2-plied. The tan/grey sample is 11"x23"; the black and white, 15"x21", was made with bi-colored cords, it emerged with stripes!; the blue/gold runner is 16"x48". All are 3/4" thick.
My colors and amounts were limited, so the combinations are--interesting. It's all about experimenting.
